Those first two and following aren't equivalent, are they? Wouldn't they compile, respectively, to: objc_msgSend(self, @selector(bar)); And: objc_msgSend(self, @selector(performSelector:), @selector(bar)); ?

On one hand, it's nice, and it'll make coding in Obj-C nicer. On the other hand, it strengthens the coupling between Objective-C the language the Cocoa the framework, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I do like it better than the prop

Regardless of whether or not it drives itself (although it's an improvement), I still find the idea of owning a car very unappealing, and it still doesn't give the suburbs a soul.

I've received a rejection for using a "private" ivar (it was actually a framework doing it). The ivar was in a public header, and was not marked @private, which is the only correct way to designated an ivar as private in Objective-C. Putt

Well, I use Xcode because the performance loss in writing Objective-C without autocompletion is larger than the performance gain from using vim. However, navigation is just so painful , and "awful" is really being kind about Xcode's find/r

This would actually be pretty easy to do (for someone on Hacker News). You could do it with the real API, but it could also probably be done with a few lines of Javascript pasted into the URL bar on your profile. Any takers?
