It’s all perspective. It changed my perspective which changes confidence. But I am at a profitable company, in a senior role. I’ve been at a handful of unicorns. I just turned down a faang 2 weeks ago after getting an offer.

I created a fake linkedin account a couple years ago using one of those AI face generators. Made myself a Senior Director of Engineering at a major company with an impressive background. I've had lots of recruiters reach out to me from

Thanks. Plan is to add a few more delivery hubs but with drive-thru attached. The 2nd location is launching in the next month or 2. Not really planning on anything with the software. This is not my primary job so don't put a lot of tim

I have a cookie delivery company[1] that I started with my sister. It’s doing well but I personally only take out $50k/yr. completely supplemental to my main job. [1]: https://www.indiehackers.com/podcast/166-sam-e

Yes. Typically interop is very straightforward. You look in the api docs and copy paste. Example here is the String doc[1]. Way down you see all the methods. Some of the methods have overloads (multiple variants). Pretty straightforward her

Does interop with c# get easier? Trying to figure out how to map to an overloaded C# callback (maybe hidden in an *.extension doc!) has wasted hours of my time. F# (the ml family in general) is my favorite language right now but, man, the .

Was trying to use F# at work for a backend service and got shut down. Ended up using Typescript instead and it doesn't feel as clean.

So Intel and AMD are capable of building a chip like this, but the ambitious size meant it was more economically feasible for Apple to build it themselves? (Not a hardware guy)

As long as the animals are eaten then it's a lot better than factory farming IMO. I think people would eat meat less regularly if they see the animals butchered.

This is how I write libraries but never formalized the tactic. Basically create a readme with example of how to use the lib with explanation. Then I design the library to match my design. I see lots of libraries (especially in .net) that a

Also, these companies have MASSIVE sales forces (no pun intended). By acquiring a decent enterprise product and throwing teams of sales guys on it they can make a lot of money. Returns aren’t as good if acquisition is high, like slack will

Exactly. It’s 2 sides where one romanticizes “the other” and one romanticizes “mine”. You can argue morality all you want but it’s a social construct in either direction.

So does this mean you are effectively writing OCaml-looking erlang? meaning, you are using Erlang libraries (not OCaml libs) to perform any IO or iterate over a list? Where does OCaml end and Erlang begin?

You don’t NEED them. They are premature. I don’t technically need to compile my app in release-mode as a small startup.

one of my first checks for a dev font is typing "lst vs 1st" (list vs first). In some the lowercase "l" looks almost the same as a 1 (one). Some will make the lower case "l" curved, but then some (like Iosevka)
