What are you intending to compare here? Two points: Try using Cruise outside its tiny comfort zones. There is no such thing as the “self driving Tesla” you mention. There is a beta which requires human supervision at all times.

That’s autopilot, an entirely different thing from FSD beta.

That is outdated information. It may have been true at the time, but now Tesla uses the interior camera to make sure you are paying attention to the road. If you don’t want to use the FSD beta, you don’t have to activate the camera, or you

Many cars charge more slowly than Teslas, so Tesla will charge them based on time spent, not just power. This aligns the incentives to allow people who foolishly choose to buy inefficient car brands help fund the further buildout of the net

This line from the article was a real off-key note: “Unfortunately, software that strips an e-book of its DRM protections is readily available online.” What??? UNfortunately? And this is coming from Library Journal?

> If COVID was human-made and not an animal-jump These are not the only two options. An animal virus could be enhanced in a lab, then jump to humans, and then the “animal-jump” terminology is just a misdirection away from the lab work. “

I love this reply and all the perspective it provides on what can be gleaned and what is the baseline state of affairs. But I'm a little sad that I had to know the extra special secret click spot (on the link showing the age of the fla

I know of a lot of hand me down phones in a lot of families with device models going back half a decade or more. Especially iPhones. I don’t think it’s a fair definition to say that a hand me down ends the lifespan.

Ah thank you. I’m assuming the product offering will be aimed at less frequent but more high value use cases such as remote navigation or sporadic messaging and infrequent short calls. Similar to other current satellite offerings for mobile

Battery aging is real but minor in my experience. However I don’t know how much this varies across car brands depending on the underlying technology they use —- which cells are used, and how the battery health is managed with software I wou

I would encourage you to educate yourself more on this. The crossover point is 1.5 years for EVs to be net better than ICE cars, for one thing. Also electric motor drivetrains make much more efficient use of energy, so even when powered by

Who was it, Eric Schmidt, who said we need to get over it, there is no privacy? I feel like we have the same energy here for authenticating human origin of content.

But they are wicked fun to drive. And the CO2 emergency is the larger problem at the moment. Btw I generally avoid seafood because fishing practices are abhorrent. But yes heavier cars do make more rubber dust which gets eaten by microbes.

Once the birth rate for a particular year is set, you can’t exactly go back in time and change it. So you don’t need to be a trained demographer to see that we are on a crashing trajectory. Beyond that, perhaps the models do assume that fut

Your idea of parental controls does not address the case where the parent is prone to spy on and do an honor killing of their own child, to state just one example scenario. This happens in some cultures. Apple can’t prevent all abuse obviou
