Even Musk has lost confidence in Musk's predictions. He jokes about this. Tough crowd out there though, you being a case in point. It's normal as a human to make predictions, and it's normal to come to the realization that so

It's not that bad. He's one of the rare people criticizing Musk while not exhibiting the delusion that Musk's predictions are "promises." So he avoids some of the more clueless mistakes although he still does manage

Unfortunately the headline makes it look like Zendesk paid a bounty, when they did not. Clearly they have a doofus in charge of security.

These people lack perspective. If (when) there is a civilization-ending asteroid impact, people with their priorities straight will have more to worry about than a handful of birds nests on a sandbar in Texas.

Technology will be ready when it's ready. There's a strong sense of entitlement and resentment in some when it's not ready when expected. "Lie" is a stretch and frankly it's not necessary to stoop down to that

It would be great if OpenAI could just wait on these announcements until they can turn on the feature for all Plus users at once. Rant. Their poor communication is exemplary in the industry. You can't even ask the old models about new

You might be right, only they can say. I just don't take their statements in a press conference at face value, but yeah there is that silver lining.

Thank you for explaining that! Seems a tough call doing that versus flagging the root comment of the acrimony, but maybe that alternate approach would have a bigger (too big) cost in disruption once there is such a small continent of commen

Was the title edited after the fact by mods? The original title has the word "rescue." The top comment is questioning the use of this word. It seems likely that when the story originally appeared on HN, it had the accurate title r

Talk to the Internet Archive. They don't just take internet stuff. If you go to their web page that describes what they do and do not accept, don't go by that. It can be, and has been, wrong in the past including the recent past (

Why do you give CarPlay credit for those features? No need for CarPlay for any of those. What do you get from CarPlay that you don't get from a connected car without CarPlay?

Your first paragraph with very small tweaks (laws of physics etc., not law) could also apply to human attendants in elevators. The second paragraph… hard to make a call on that one.

In practice, this implementation (through the Chat UI) is scary bad. It actively lies about what it is doing. This is what I am seeing. Proactive, open, deceit. I can't even begin to think of all the ways this could go wrong, but it gi
