Yes it's key to separate both, but regardless they know DNS queries + can see all http traffic and TLS handshakes will reveal (in plaintext) the name of sites connected to. So basically... they know very well where you go, they just do

Xfinity (Comcast) is uploading their own firmware to my netgear which I have purchased on amazon. So one may (rightfully) assume that they have their own backdoors there too; otherwise why would they bother doing that.

This is a really great article, I really enjoyed the part that covers APL*PLUS/PC and APL2 which we can still use today; unfortunately it's likely that the mainframe implementations of APL are no longer available.

doesn't have to be that fancy, you can run python (which is ima/evm signed) and run arbitrary stuff. ptrace shouldn't be allowed in prod, but yes you could memfd some code segment and exec into it... still python is easier...
