I think a lot of that problem disappears when you start using separate receive addresses with each transaction. Yes, that can become a bit of a pain, but it's more than doable. From what I remember, the default of the GUI, at least, is to g

By coincidence, did you know that the company that distributes Quicken / QuickBooks in Australia is called Reckon?

Can I make another suggestion, too, then (and also related to 'removing people')? I live halfway around the world from where I grew up, so most of my friends are either "back there" (childhood friends) or "over here" (friends I've made in t

One other interesting thing about private health insurance in Australia is that once you reach a certain income threshold, if you do not have any extra private health insurance, your income tax rate goes up a percent or two. That wasn't i

That's a really good point and I appreciate you trying to help. To be honest, the 'frustrations' that I had heard about were all second hand stories, so it is hard for me to say that it really is a problem. Having said that, I agree: everyo

It may also have been your accent. I'm Australian but have lived in Canada for the last 5 or 6 years, so I knew of all the 'frustrations' that Anglophones feel when trying to speak French in Quebec. Anyway, I was in a bar one night in Montr

You can encrypt a password in the database and still keep it retrievable (for things like this). Storing it in plain text, however, is inexcusable.

Yeah, the only 'shame' is that even if they embedded their TFNs, what's the worse that could happen? The laws that protect the use of the TFN would essentially make having it useless anyway. Unlike in the US, for example, where the stories

Say what you like about the Maritimes, but one thing is for certain: I'm so glad that the main ISP out here is Eastlink. 15Mbps is the stock standard, and for a bit extra you can double that (or, for a lot extra, you can go to 100Mbps). Adm

My bad. I knew that they didn't really ask for assignment to them for all GPL software, but I was under the impression that at some point, at least, they were suggesting something along the lines of "if you want our legal representation the

As far I understand it, if you are a copyright owner and your copyright is being infringed, you can start the suit. In fact, generally (at least) the FSF will only take up lawsuits when it involves infringement against their own copyright.

Is there any chance that that administrator has you in their webmail account? I know there was a couple of times where I never gave LinkedIn my webmail account details (though they do have my webmail address), and that certain friends showe
