Not that I plan on trying it, but how do you really know that? Such a broad statement strikes me as saying something akin to 'I can prove there is no God.' As much as I believe it to be true and want to see it proved, I just can't say for s

Normally, I would make an argument that the amount of use without Javascript is very low. However, given the ecommerce nature, I can understand the desire to reduce Javascript dependencies. You might give < http://reference.sitepoint.co

One of my favorite ways to avoid user confusion is to use visual cues. So, maybe, when all three fields meet some sort of client-side validation rules then a button fades into view below the last field. Or, you could highlight the field in

Wow, nicely said. I really agree with the part about vetting software. The software repositories of most Linux distributions (I use Ubuntu) give me the reassurance that somone who knows more than I do has looked at the software and said, ye

Absolutely agree. With the amount that you have produced in the last 6 months, I am envious. I did the CS degree, a year of grad school, an internship, and a couple undergrad research projects. Still, you've produced much more than I have i

As I entered my second career, as programmer, I made a very conscious attempt to use a very personal handle for services that were even remotely professional. For most, that meant something like 'jnovinger', which is my first initial and fu

No, just saying that this is advice given to YC applicants on how to quickly describe their startups. I referenced pg because, you know, he wrote the article and it seemed applicable. Maybe it's because I really don't know much about music

Why? By framing it as 'GitHub for Guitarists' I immediately had an idea of what he was trying to do. I doubt that there will be any confusion between My Amp Head and GitHub. Also, this is suggested by pg himself in < http://ycombinator.

Yeah, I have always been very excited about fuel cells -- in fact I still think they could fundamentally change our notion of how energy is harvested and transferred. As for the original article, I think I must be stuck in my midwestern min

I agree, but on the other hand, it sure seems like low-hanging fruit. If this could be applied to nearly all existing combustion engines simply by changing out a sparkplug, then it might not require all of us to go out and buy a new car jus

Completely off-topic, but that sounds very similar to approach taken by RISC CPU's. Be very good at doing smalls things very, very fast and then compose those operations in to higher order operations. Just saying.
