Sounds like you joined during a wave of new people and were only getting posts from your shared pubs. Did you contribute any content yourself and build out a network and thus increase your feed? I've been on for a year now and there

Why start from scratch? Why not take over an existing town with some infrastructure which has been mostly abandoned? There are plenty of small towns in Northern California, say Corning, that were once large productive communities in the p

There have been several studies showing that you're more likely to get hit by a car biking on the sidewalk then riding on the street. Drivers don't look for bicyclist riding on the sidewalk, you will get right swiped.

I've never understood why we don't gasify our waste plastic and woody material and use it as a fuel source. PVC withstanding (as it create toxic Chloride gases), the stuff has value for a large power plant.

DNA can be harvested from dead hair, skin or spit even, so anyone with access to your physical environment could obtain your DNA.

I use a twiddler while walking. It took a couple of weeks to learn to type with one hand, but eventually it becomes less of a headache. I don't use it with any device, I just use it to write down my thoughts while I walk the dogs and

Decomposing plant matter creates C02 and methane, so Hugelkultur only suquesters carbon for short periods. Biochar, a.k.a. terrapreta which is buried wood charcoal, on the other hand is thought to be inactive in the soil for closer to 10k

I, and my friends, have been using secure scuttlebutt and we couldn't be happier. I personally enjoy it because the content isn't curated, and the fact that my data resides on my computer and those in my gossip network. Beyond bu

The next level for me is a Pilot Falcon. The nib has a ton of smooth flex that allows for beautiful line width variation. It is spendy, and the extra fines are hard to come by in the states. That being said, I love my Metropolitan.

Not necessarily, if one make bio-char from the wood the carbon is stable for ~10k years, even if buried in the soil (terra pretax). This can be done successfully during the gasification process for producing heat, syngas and electricity. Al

You can search multiple craigslist locations by doing a google search with "server:craigslist.org" to limit the search to craigslist's server. Not the most refined approach but good in a jiffy.

Anyone know if these will work along with the older GoTenna devices? I'm curious if the only difference is that the new devices can resend messages on enabling a mesh network.

It's a far better idea to dump the carbon in after it has been used for it's energy and is bound up in a more stable configuration, ie biochar (a.k.a. terra preta or low temp charcoal). Biochar is stable in the soil for thousands
