Modafinil is generic. If you have a prescription, you can just buy it for cheap online from Canada.

I think you are dramatically overestimating the amount of waste that results from context switching.

Yeah, but what was the age range they tested? If they're comparing 22 year-olds to 18 year-olds, they're still only covering a small range.

You can get much higher quality information now. There are tons of mistakes and inaccuracies in TAC. These days there are HD YouTube videos with detailed instructions on how to do that kind of stuff.

Parent comment didn't lay forth a good argument, but I think there is something to be said for the societal cost of people owning investment capital. However, there is also something to be said for the benefit of incentives. It's

I'm not convinced that's true. There are countless innovations that we were able to get to work despite having little understanding of the underlying theory. Given how adaptable both biological and artificial neural networks are,

I think it's more than that. It's a way of filtering people who can't handle the frustration of repeated failure and failing in spite of doing everything right. For elite soldiers like the SEALs, I can see how this would be v

Drugs are the only industry where this really matters. The government can just offer research subsidies to make up for the reduced patent protections, and everyone would still be better off. It's silly to keep our broken patent system

Honestly, I don't think these two things detract from the idea that much. The cost and safety are, in my opinion, the biggest benefit. The amount of nuclear waste in the world is actually fairly small, and long term disposal isn't

Just because the punishment is legal doesn't mean it isn't excessively harsh. Would you have the same reply for someone who was caught with a bag of weed in Singapore and was facing caning and a long prison sentence?
