I guess this is itself a social science experiment, namely to see if there is a link between doing social science and having "a balanced, happy society" :)

That’s not really specific to Tesla. Lots of cars have rear windows that only hinge open slightly

The bit about the ground-handler agent not having 2FA is a bit of a red herring, getting access to a session is trivial - just find an empty common-use terminal in the airport. Or just bribe one of the thousands of underpaid and overworked

I’m wondering why on earth the military was storing cheese as a powder… the whole point of cheeses is that they are a great way to store milk. Why didn’t they just store cheese wheels? Surely powdering it makes it go off much faster?

Eh… they’re just a consulting firm. Nobody does really care about them from the perspective of advancing the science. Does anyone bother what IBM or CapGemini or Accenture or Deloitte or whatever think?

Regulations for healthcare exist are complex in every developed country, but in most everything works fine for a fraction of the cost, so I don’t think that’s the main issue

FWIW my kids in France had to have “numworks” calculators. A lot more modern than the Tis of old (and cheaper!)

Not to defend Crowdstrike in any way, but it’s a bit unfair to only look at the downside. What if his hospital hadn’t bought an antivirus, and got hit by ransomware?

What do you mean by "off the shelf"? Sold without custom development? If so, a lot of enterprise software is sold "off the shelf" to small/medium customers
