So if you have an existing DigitalOcean account, it makes it seem like you can't apply the promo code to it. But I shot off a ticket to DigitalOcean's support, and they applied the $100 promo to my account within 5 minutes. So def

I remember a few of these difficulties being mentioned in Sebastian Thrun's Self-Driving Cars course on Udacity. It's been awhile, but I seem to remember the snow discussion in particular. The problem wasn't just slippery con

I'm still pretty fond of fish myself, mainly for the sane scripting. Wondering if it might be worth switching to zsh for the extra plugins and community support, though.

I've been using Seafile for a few weeks as well, and have been pretty impressed. It's been a better experience then ownCloud, for me. Having an open source syncing service with client side encryption is great.

Interesting, thanks! The Indie Statik article didn't do a good job of framing who he was. I'll bet Polaris tries to push the "it was all Matti's fault" angle that the Indie Statik article had. But I'm assuming

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure what's going on with that so I removed that part of my post for now. The author just tweeted again saying "he wasn't fired", so maybe they haven't actually cancelled his contract. Th

What a crazy bunch of events in the Bitcoin world today. Of course, this isn't necessarily proof that Dorian isn't Satoshi. (I personally don't think that he is, but I guess we'll see.) Regardless, it sure will be nice w

Interesting stuff! (Curious, why not just link to the SuperUser question instead of the LifeHacker link, though?) I rarely use USB drives these days, and I don't remember the last time I used one that didn't belong to me. Probably

Best of luck to their support team. Outages can make tech support's life miserable. If you call in, just remember the person on the other side of the phone has likely been yelled at all morning for something that wasn't their faul

Kind of odd that 4m units is considered a flop. Jim Sterling did a video on that idea of what AAA "success" in terms of sales is awhile ago: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/jimquisition/7

Well, I think the chat is set in slow mode, so you can only send a command once every 30 seconds. I tried to implement a voting algorithm on the Dark Souls stream I did today, but I didn't have enough people for it to work. The idea wa
