I went like this CPP -> Java -> Haskell -> Python -> Ruby -> Coffeescript and elisp somewhere inbetween. I learned a lot about languages but there are many of my friends who know just PHP or Java and who are much more pr

It's easy to get an internship today. Douchebag companies who will not pay me at least a minimum wage can have someone completely clueless who knows nothing. You can get experience and not get paid working on any large open source project.

I feel like everyone saying how we'll have Firefox 346 is missing the point. The point is really to set up something like a rolling release system where you don't really care which version you are running. The only thing you choose accordin

This my sound as an oxymoron, but Linux really shines as a desktop operation system for developers. If you're a regular desktop user, your basics are covered. But if you have a nicer camera an want to manage your photos, you're shit out of

It's feedback. From someone who's been using Linux for a long time. It's hardly random whining.

For anyone interested add these PPAs: https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa https://launchpad.net/~sarvatt/+archive/intel-sna This is not considered stable but works OK for me. Read the pages first.

I usually host it on my Dropbox but imgur uploading would be nice. Does Shutter support it?

Is there some place I could read more about how something like that works?

I've always felt that shutter is overkill for what I do 99% of the time: Take a screenshot of my whole desktop or some part of it and save it as png.

The fact that it's not like the one from '99 doesn't mean that there's no bubble. One of the reasons bubbles happen is because after each one we are looking for that one but a different one occurs.

Thanks! I used Wombat a lot when I used Ambiance. I'm rebuilding Emacs from git to check your version out.

Thanks! I use Radiance now but used Ambiance before. I agree that the fonts are too big by default. I have a high dpi screen so I have to set everything up the way I like it anyway. I used xmonad before and it's awesome but I got a bit tire

Thanks! I've used Ambiance before and always dark color-themes with it like Wombat and Zenburn. I'm having a break with lighter themes recently. I guess when I switch again I'll make a darker one. It doesn't make sense for me to make a dark

I'm disappointed that the 13" still has no high DPI screen. I think Apple will start pushing higher DPI screens into their laptops when their OS becomes more resolution-independent.
