I bought a framework laptop 1 year ago, and trust me when I say I tried everything out there to improve the battery life on Ubuntu. It was still so bad I was always worried about the battery draining out, not to mention, just closing the li

The medium article you posted does analysis on OpenAI's old embeddings. OpenAI has a single new embedding model [0] that replaces all the old models and it's also super cheap ($0.0004 / 1K tokens). 0. https://opena

Whenever someone says 'religions' in the western hemisphere, it usually means Christianity. E.g. Islam fundamentally will not have a crisis even if alien life is discovered because it doesn't disprove the existence and onenes

It's amazing that Google, Amazon, and Apple, with all of their billions of dollars and research teams couldn't train a speech recognition model that works reliably well most of the time regardless of accent or background noise or

If I have learnt anything from being in Academia, never bother reading a press release from a university describing their own work.

Sundar Pichai is like the anti-Satya_Nadella. Since taking over Google, the company has only gone downhill but they haven't realized this, heads will only roll once they get hit over their search and ad dominance, by that time it will

1. After Virtue by Alasdair MacIntyre 2. The Crisis of the Modern World by Rene Guenon 3. Islam and the Destiny of Man by Gai Eaton IMO these books are critical reading in a post-modern world to make any sense of life.

Some people here are asking why should someone care about people who killed innocent men, women, and children. It's a question worth answering. Since 2002, nearly 779 Muslim men and boys have been held at Guantanamo, nearly all of them

Raising kids at home is now being servant? Should just drop the kids to daycare then where they grow up the most important years of their lives without any meaningful companionship of any of the parents.

There should be remuneration for people whose material is wrongfully taken down, even if temporarily. I bet that will force these platforms to deliberate more before taking any action.

Tiktok is a national security threat for US. No idea why they are still letting it operate here given it’s directly controlled by an adversary.

If you want more adoption of the language, probably best to leave a copy on the website for free. I think I saw some statistics that it doesn’t really reduce sale of the hard copies that much.

I used to use Keep. But have switched to pinboard for the last 8 months and incredibly happy about it. Just don't want to wake up one morning and see Google is shutting it down and go through all the hassle that comes with it.
