Not sure what to make of this. It was an engaging read but the thrust of it seems to be that people are superficial and judge others by their appearance. No shit?

Google may or may not lose users to Brave but on the macro level it won't be because of a niche protocol that most non-technical people associate with child porn and darknet drug markets, if they have heard of it at all.

It seems you can game it the same way you can game HN karma; by saying odious things not directly but in passive-aggresive language. For example, I asked if I was the asshole for politely but firmly reminding my wife that it's her resp

Neat, thanks for sharing. My main feedback is that it subjectively looks and feels very much like the SEO blogspam you get at the top of every google search these days. It's hard to put my finger on exactly what, but it feels visually

We do in fact have an affordability crisis in Canada. I bought a home in a small town outside Toronto (too far to be a commuter town) in 2017 for $425000, and sold it in 2020. We're friends with the people that bought it from us and o

Just about anyone would be better. Free Software is first and foremost a political movement. It would be better to have someone at the helm who isn't totally inept at navigating media and politics.

Exactly. "Did this email originate at $server" is what DKIM and SPF are meant to solve and IME they work well. Setting them up is not particularly difficult and there is a wealth of open documentation about it.
