Not sure how it works in other OS's but in Omarchy [1] you hold down `Super + Ctrl + X` to start recording and release it to stop, while it's recording you'll see a red voice recording icon in the top bar so it's clear w

Big fan of Salvatore's voxtral.c and flux2.c projects - hope they continue to get optimized as it'd be great to have lean options without external deps. Unfortunately it's currently too slow for real-world use (AMD 7800X3D&#x

I've shipped an Omarchy MCP Server that lets AI Assistants manage your Omarchy desktop themes - switch wallpapers, change color schemes, toggle dark mode and more, all from natural language: https://llmspy.org/docs/

EOL of Windows 10 forced me to, but I'm not mad - Desktop Linux is Great! It's definitely the superior OS for modern development and general system admin, WSL/Docker always felt like an uncanny valley kludge.

MCP allows AI Models that doesn't support Image generation the ability to generate images/audio via tool calling. But you can just select the Image Generation model you prefer to use directly [1]. Currently supports Google, Open A

MCP support is available via the fast_mcp extension: https://llmspy.org/docs/mcp/fast_mcp I use llms .py as a personal assistant and MCP is required to access tools available via MCP. MCP is a great way to make fe

I wouldn't use Claude API Key pricing, but I also wouldn't get a Claude Max sub unless it was the only AI tool I used. Antigravity / Google AI Pro is much better value, been using it as my primary IDE assistant for a couple m

Yep Open WebUI's switch to a non OSS license to inhibit competitive forks [1], in their own words [2] ensures I'll never use them. Happy to develop an OSS alternative that does the opposite whose rewrite on extensibility enables c

Most announcements slip through without notice, it only picks up votes when it hits the main page. v1 also took a while to make it to HN, v3 is a complete rewrite focused on extensibility with a lot more new features.

iconify has been my primary source of icons for over a year now. Most of my Websites/Apps don't use rasterized graphics for design anymore, SVG + CSS gradients/backgrounds & effects seem to handle everything I need.

Yeah except Gemini CLI is still bad after such a long time, every now and then I'll fire it up when I need a complex CLI command only to find that it hadn't improved and that I would've been better off asking an LLM instead.

Gemini CLI is too slow to be useful, kind of surprised it was even offered and marketed given how painful it is to use. I thought it'd have to be damaging to the Gemini brand to get people to try it out, suffer painful UX then immediat

Do you save time by using a calculator / spreadsheet or try to do all calculations in your head, because your ability to do quick calculations degrades the more you rely on tools to do it. I'm not too worried about degrading abili

Too complicated, should be simple like O'sassy, i.e. modified MIT with a clause where it doesn't extend to oligopoly cloud corps.

Given oligopoly cloud corps are the biggest exploiters of OSS (to everyone elses detriment), I'd prefer an OSS license that was simply OSS for everyone under < $1B ARR.

SDXL has long been surpassed, it's primary redeeming feature is fine tuned variants for different focus and image styles. IMO HiDream had the best quality OSS generations, Flux Schnell is decent as well. Will try out Z-Image soon.

Despite having an unlimited warchest I'm not expecting Microsoft to come out as a winner from this AI race whilst having the necessary resources. The easy investment was to throw billions at OpenAI to gain access to their tech, but tha
