You could feed a person off less then half an acre in regions with a decently long growing season. Even could support a few chickens. The above is true with some qualifications. You will need decent soil and plentiful clean water. And a pow

Kind of makes sense. The lake has been drying down since it was Lake Bonneville that covered much of the area in ancient times. You can even see the old Bonneville water line on the mountain ridge.

I happen to think there are likely practical reasons for the law as I've seen videos where filmers were certainly interfering with police work and endangering everybody. That being said, I agree 100%. The police will abuse this badly w

I believe I appreciate your point. But, you appear to be making the assumption that the impacts one leaves are the defining features of ones life. It's certainly a valid point of view, but not sure I fully subscribe to it. Additionally

This is true, but when I'm dead I won't be there, so what people say isn't that relevant. However, if I don't put in the hours now, I might get to enjoy life less because I'll have less resources to do so. (Within r

Seconded on these recommendations (except Pyramid which I have not used). Vuejs just applied to certain places as needed with no build/bundle/npm packages and bootstrap and that's it.

Friedman sometimes has some interesting takes but is often dramatically and laughably wrong. I would hesitate to take much of what they say as having much predictive accuracy at all. They do state it with an air of authority and "high

The world will end. For some people. Because of idiocy. That is a big deal that is not solved by "going outside".

Yes I agree and this is not all together a bad thing. We need some stability otherwise fast talking demagogues and mob sentiment would routinely upset the apple cart. The bureaucracy (aka the "deep state") provides that. But what

Wow not excusing hurting people's feelings, but if you are literally crying you have become too identified with your code and possibly your job. Or else, you just cry too easily and that's a problem when working with others also.

Ya that's a really good point and I think about it often. Look at Iraq, the cradle of civilization, the seat of Babylon. And Egypt. And even Greece to an extent. Former glories of the world but they aren't the most glorious places

Some of it is interesting. The idea that humans are (in general) machines and all our reactions are stimuli/response. With occasional glimpses of real consciousness that have potential to be developed. That is interesting to me anyway.
