I am confused. Why would anybody use Discord for anything other than...well, I don't know. I guess the same thing the old Yahoo! chat rooms were for 20 years ago.

He must have had you pegged for a sucker. When bums spend their own money they are strictly economical. That means handles of vodka, fortified wine, or (maybe) something like Steel Reserve.

Zero. In the first few years, they would likely trade grain and oil for hard money (gold, silver). Once that played out, much of the effected world would likely have economies similar to the late 19th century--materials extraction, textil

This was a common take, and is the opposite one intended. Both "Threads" and "The Day After" had this problem. A contemporary take: https://lifeinhellarchives.tumblr.com/image/176779648696 You see

Everybody gets to run their own business as they please. I would insist on clear communications in all dealings. I am not going to try to interpret anybody's hieroglyphics, no matter how much fun I might miss out on.

Check out Miles Davis critiquing some poor kid after a performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCTirrJ1Gms&t=1421s It's not quite as bad as I remember it, but man he could be an ass.

Why in hell would they send out search boats at all? I can't fathom the stupidity it would take to help invaders invade your country. And by the way, the vacation company will likely get a fat bill from the Coast Guards.

It's not all about rich people switching their portfolios around. When rates rise, operating expenses for companies go up, and so they pass that cost down. This is a bigger deal for companies perennially in debt than startups.
