Likely this has more to do with their professional liability insurance than any government regulation, directly.

Did you suffer any increase in premiums? I’ve never been involved in any sort of accident (other than being a passenger), so what happens after an accident re. premiums, etc. is a Scary Thing that I’d love to demystify for myself before I l

I’ve thought that ever since they got caught rolling an EV down a hill for a promo video, after taking tons of money from a major automaker. Wait? That wasn’t Tesla? Okay, I guess there’s a level below “fraudulent to the very core”

Charge timer is the only thing other than the backup camera that is materially improved by the larger touch screen. The charge timer is moved to the little dashboard LCD in the S model, and it’s a bit janky.

I have a 2014 Nissan Leaf S (the lowest trim). It’s refreshingly simple, it has a screen but it’s only for the radio and it’s not a touch screen. Tactile controls for everything. It has an 80 mile range, which is fine for everything around

Okay, so 20mi of where you were born and the four other places easily accessible by rail. It just wouldn’t work in rural, spread out America. (Anyway, if we cave to this demand, getting rid of trains will be next on the docket. Remember whe

Keyboard brightness - you can put the control into control center and then it’s two clicks to get to a slider for it. Not awesome, but for the relatively rare times I want to change it manually, it’s been acceptable.

Not Apple PR magic, but true firsthand experience. Objectively, this is the computer that makes me happiest and most productive. It could run on a 6MHz slime mold processor for all I care.

See, this is the thing about M1: I don’t care about your numbers (which I have no doubt are true), I care about my personal experience with the magic cold $999 aluminum slab that runs circles around everything I owned before. Reading these

Git commit timestamps are 100% fudgeable. You could implement this based on GitHub repository age, but the assumptions would break for imported repos. (Understanding we’re waaaay off in edge case territory here and this is all basically aca

This is somewhat pedantic. With this logic, you could say that the purpose of a car is to get somewhere, and therefore the optimal speed is c. But that would be a completely useless thing to say, because we can’t get your Camry to c. There

Agree. Apple’s default password generator has always seemed to strike a sane balance - plenty of entropy, technically contains special characters (-) but nothing that needs escaped, and very typeable or readable.

My requirement is to tow the Space Shuttle up Mt Everest. I found a used Prius and am unsatisfied with its performance. Cmon, that’s not a defect. That’s being irritated because you didn’t spec out what you need.
