Right, I guess my question is if anything that needs to be done to the grid itself (outside of individual homes). You're going to have a big inverter anyway to power just your house from your solar panels, batteries, whatever.

Two points: 1. When I switched to an EV as a daily driver, I realized I had underestimated how much time and hassle I was spending at gas stations. When it's been engrained in your psyche as being just part of life, we don't reall

Yeah, it's nuts that power companies either didn't notice their capacity was decreasing, or they didn't care. Might be time for them to lose their public utility status, and have that passed to someone who can add.

32 bits can address 4GiB. That's how 2^32 works. It can also address 2GiB, or 1GiB. I think the wording is fine. Like saying a car can go up to 200mph, no one thinks the car is unable to go 50mph.

Great! While we can argue over whether not changing an app icon is immoral, it is your prerogative to make that trade off. Let’s just not pretend the tradeoff doesn’t exist.

No, they’re saying consumers are able to stop using your app if you inject politics into it, and some percentage will. No right or wrong involved, this means less money for you.

The part about it not being your problem is fantasy. When the author of this article leaves a bad review, it becomes your problem. You are unlikely to be able to pursue the author and force them to remove their review, so your choices are t

This used to be worse than it is now. Today there’s all kinds of warnings about buckets that can be publicly accessed. It takes quite a bit of work to make one public, not something you’d do without knowing anymore.

I could get on board with that, but it probably violates some existing price display regulations. I assume this because otherwise grocery stores would probably love to have a lower “price” as the foremost number.

Electricity is super cheap, really. You can move an entire car a mile for $0.025 - $0.125, depending on your state. I can’t see electricity prices being an issue unless we really bungle the building of energy capacity in the near future. (M

Cost per unit is displayed on price labels in the US, at every store I can remember being to. Smaller text than the price, which makes sense. Sometimes the units are screwed up, and it shows “$3.49, $3.49/ea” for something that should

When I was at a BigCo, some groups would regularly send out big Excel spreadsheets of all the old stuff they were about to sell to resellers. You could buy it at the price the reseller would have paid. Never any really good deals, just dece

You don’t have a right to not be banned from Twitter. Musk has been saying he thinks the way Twitter bans people is unhealthy for democracy. Point me to the place he’s said you have a capital-R Right to not be banned from Twitter.

Children’s lemonade stand robbery frequency sounds like a good top-level crime statistic. Zillow should list the “CLSR Index” for each neighborhood.
