Theres no uniform definition of autism. If you go to 10 different psychiatrists for a diagnosis, you'll get 10 different answers most relying on heavy self reporting by either the parents or the patient. None of this is accurate.

Theres alot of anecdotal evidence from parents that seems to prove some of this. There are two problems: 1) Most people with autism don't have it e.g. there is no good definition. 2) Not only are diet studies hard to do because they in

It has long been noticed that many people with mental issues also have digestive issues. Imagine if the prescription for alot of health problems was to "eat a good diet and no amount of alcohol is beneficial"? People don't wa

"A mistaken belief is that AC is more efficient than DC. What AC is is more easy to transform from one voltage to another (until somewhat recently). That makes it easier to run AC at 1 MV and then step it down to 240V for residential a

There's no goalpost moving. The point is that the USSR was so successful that no one wants to copy its legacy nor did anyone want to emigrate there.

So does my ant colony analogy apply here? When do we get to move into our hexagonal cell I mean house? You know, bees use hexagons because they are the most efficient use of space. But please do keep using the "redneck" trope. We&

Yea yea, but you'd change it if you could and then say the same thing that every despot has always said since the beginning of time: "You're free to leave if you want".

In every conversation I've had on this subject, urbanites discuss the "lack of nightlife" as a problem. My opinions are twofold on this: A) If you need beer and nightlife to distract you from living in an urban dystopia, ther

Heh, they always say "You're free to leave any time you want". When all we have is Maglev trains that go from one walkable city (e.g. jail) to another, how will you move to the country?

I live in one of the few 15 minute cities and I hate it. You might as well live in a jail or a zoo. Are you envious of the lions that live in their cages? They have everything they need close by! Water, companionship, food, etc....
