If you're into this sort of stuff, there's a relatively new Youtube Channel where the creator puts an interesting subject under an electron microscope and talks about it. I find his videography & micrography aesthetically plea

Cool tool! It would be great if you showed the PP-adjusted value converted to USD (Using current exchange rates). It might make it easier for me to understand the values for countries I haven't lived in. For example, $1 USD allows me t

+1. Linux support is pretty good these days... unless you're trying to run it on a Surface Pro or something. I'm just worried that I won't be able to find any alternative to the iPhone. The Librem and Pine phones look promisi

Interesting! I was confused by the electric vertical motors in the news story's image... but it looks like the main engine is fuel powered, and an alternator powers the electric motors: https://www.muginuav.com/wp-conte

Yes, the problem is that I'm lumped into a group using a term that doesn't describe me accurately. > What purpose is served by focusing on skin color? I'm as clueless as you on this. Skin color is largely unimportant, and

I prefer any grouping that describes me using attributes that actually belong to me. "Human", "Dark skinned person", "Engineer", etc I'm not a "Black Person". I get that's the term that pe

This is great! I hope we can slowly stop referring to people using these crude reductions. I remember arguing with a classmate when I was a child, arguing that I wasn't "Black". I wasn't necessarily offended by the term.

I've been thinking about going down the TrueNAS route (the TrueNAS Mini series looks really nice), but it seems a little expensive. Is the extra cost worth the convenience of having a machine that you know will stay compatible with Fre

Thanks! Looks like they link Facebook's 10Q filing. Can't tell how they arrived at the number though. I agree that their losses were surprisingly high at the time... especially given how lean their engineering team and operations

Very cool! Seems like a great way to scale up deployment of inference models. I wonder if this means that they will extend V8 to allow Tensorflow JS to run on a CUDA backend rather than WebGL? Edit: It seems like TensorflowJS already has a

$NUAN's spike from $45 on Friday makes sense. However, I'm having trouble figuring out why they currently trade at ~$53 given that the market knows that Microsoft will pay $56 for each share. ( https://news.microsoft.com

It's about Samy Bengio (who is Yoshua's brother and technically related). It is confusing though, and the title should be updated to avoid confusion.
