Ah, so it's like remote work. Boom of the buzzword, actually being forced to live the buzzword, then whiplash back into the dark ages.

Good article, but I think the exclamation mark in the title was an important part of this.

What do you sous vide 24*7? It sounds like it would be party grounds for bacteria. Also curious if the bags and other components break as well.

We made this up in school: "saya tak hensem, kalau saya hensem, tentu Tipah suka" [opposite = tentang, adjacent = sebelah, cos = kos] Translation: I'm not handsome, if I were handsome, Tipah (our principal) would like me"

Aren't futures all backed by some financial entity? The first problem is it's a third party. That party may go bankrupt. Plus, it's probably in another country. McDonald's is in all the countries. It's also best whe

I'm not sure if I'm missing the point here, but stablecoins could be exchanged for something of value at a fixed price. The USD used to be this - you could exchange it for gold. But it was more convenient to give paper money than

Interesting. I always thought it that new would have more AI slop and the algorithm filters them out.

A lot of people do the same thing, except they have 5 years of experience on top of yours and still don't have jobs. It sounds like you're already a good enough candidate - most people don't know and don't care about bas

Yes. I've got a lot of high quality connections that didn't lead to jobs too. One was actually a company I applied for elsewhere, which they ignored because it was a generic job site - the site rejected me, but they continued the

Yes, that is textbook sealioning. This comment is sealioning too. It's when you pick the worst possible intepretation of the comment and repeat it in the most polite way possible. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seal

I often find myself disagreeing with HBR recently, and some of the articles don't even use reliable data. I feel it's a little above mainstream sources like Forbes/Business Insider. There was some good stuff; it had the bes

There's a good reference up in the comments: https://genai-showdown.specr.net/image-editing which goes to show that some of these amazing results might need 18 attempts and such.

Yeah, I appreciate this kind of benchmarking too. That other Gen AI Showdown in the comments also does a good job with this - mentions that it was best of 8 attempts and so on.

I had GPT-3 access at the time. GPT-3 was a dick. ChatGPT was the same guy in a suit and customer service. OpenAI put a ton of guardrails on it because they didn't trust it. They overtrained and cut out a lot though, and the good stuff

Survivorship bias. Every Palestinian faction that advocated for peace or a two state solution no longer exists. What happened to them? I don't know, but their land is now claimed as a part of Israel. I don't believe they gave it u

Money is like blood. It transfers resources from one part to another part. If you don't have enough money, it's pretty bad. If it flows too fast, it's bad. If it's too slow, it's even worse. Central banks control th

Claude is exceptionally bad at FE; it has hardly improved since Claude 3 while everything else has made strides forward. GPT seems legit multimodal, as in images and text in the same space, and it can maneuver FE at the level of an experien

Part of the test is whether you try to know the rules. People are going to be dropped into a complex codebase with outdated documentation. For more senior roles, you want people who bring in expertise instead of just doing what they're

At this point, I've used Kotlin longer than I've used Java. There's some new features in Java like nullables, but they're still too verbose. If you like the style of Java with a little functional flavor, Kotlin is about

Games aren't just about fun. They're often about playing out some kind of fantasy. Like you can have something with 10/10 graphics, better than Stardew Valley, but Stardew Valley players aren't going to just buy a clone.
