Personal anecdote: I correlated my RSI directly to drinking coffee (tea is okay). I notice when I'm caffeinated that my posture is very different and I hold postures (e.g. holding down the shift key) for much longer. If RSI starts t

A big difference between Emacs and Raskins' design is the concept of modelessness. If you've ever typed META+X in emacs in anticipation of typing a command, and then switched windows or got distracted or clicked the mouse, emacs

The 'Reserved' sign is the only one I'd object to. It's likely to be read from afar, and never approached close enough to get the joke. Even then, it would be easy to reason that 'fun and games' was an in-joke from whichever party made th

I remember reading about a study (can't dig it up now) that said that drivers drive on average 1 meter closer to cyclists who are wearing helmets vs. those without. Maybe that's why you feel safer. And some evangelizing against helmet law

I tripped up on the NPN module when building openssl from source - great tip with the yum replacement installation. Note: you also need to have EPEL installed for the above to work: rpm -Uvh http://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/fedora/epel/6/x86
