Well it is open source, is cross platform and is not made by Apple. So, really different.

Can confirm. Also learned it in school in Germany, although I forgot most of it, because I almost never use it. For most things, forvo [0] works good enough. [0] https://forvo.com/search/Yggdrasil/

If you try it out, I would be interested in knowing if it helped with the fuzzyness. I experienced the same on a 38“ 3840x1600 display, which only looks bad in macOS. I no longer own a macbook so I can‘t do any testing on my own.

That sticky header is really annoying. It is too big, the eye is distracting, and it is not helping much when trying to read the article. Why do I need a progress indicator, when I already have scroll bar? I mean it looks kinda nice at a fi

The worst device I have ever owned was a Microsoft Surface Pro 6. Most problems with the hardware, like the keyboard not being recognized half the time, or the touchpad randomly ignoring my inputs. Would not recommend to anyone. A friend of

I mean what is there to test, really? Just use the the different input types and mark your fields as "email", "password" and so on. There is nothing to test really. If a password manager does not work when given clear hi

I find it funny how the stats get skewed by developers or people coming from HN (83% from HN at the time of viewing). Windows, the most used OS in the world is listed under "Other" when looking at the Platforms pie chart. Pretty f

I just tried it on an iPad Pro with Safari. Clicking the tiles does not work, scrolling does not work with the touchpad, and overall it feels very janky. They probably didn‘t care to optimize / make it usable with Safari.

This is not about ugly vs beautiful. Good UI is not primarily about being nice to look at, it is to be usable. The UI has to be really bad to be able to screw up this bad without even knowing it. Horrendously bad.

You don‘t actually have less keys with a 60% keyboard. You have the same amount of keys, but packed onto function layers. Instead of reaching with your fingers to far-away keys, you will press a function key, and another key that is closer

The app seems really amazing so far after trying it out on my iPhone. Everything that I have tried so far works like a charm, ez searching, indentation, nice styling, intuitive controls. But the one thing that is missing for me to use it, i

In order to log in, you need a (really long) secret key + a strong password, that should not be used anywhere else. That is pretty secure. The secret key can be kept save, because it is only required once for each device, when you log in th

This does not sound like a hard problem at all. Just check the query for localizable keywords ( :{KEYWORD} ), and replace that with the word it represents. So if the query is "in:bin" just convert that to "in:trash" and

Just read the german version of that article, and they way the talk, and the way it is represented does not sound professional at all. It often sounds like a parody, for example calling Apple „Big Brother“ for offering a cloud service. Its

Even in countries were Pixel phones are distributed, they are "hard" to get. Google is doing something wrong. I don't know anybody who owns a Pixel phone, despite Android market share being something like 70% here in Germany.

Yeah, I think you are right. Apps don't need access to GPS, internet or bluetooth to know your location. They can just log what cell tower you are connected to, and use that information to "estimate" your location every time

It's not like you can use both. If the surrounding is dark, obviously a dark theme will be much nicer and better on the eyes. If it is noon and you are in a brightly lit room, a light theme will obviously work very well.

Whats wrong with the T2? I just heard some stories that you can't recover your data when your hardware fails (which is not that huge of a problem, who does not sync their files nowadays), and that some laptops get 'improperly'

Just because you got used to this tool, does not mean it is good UX. To me this looks really cluttered, and I would be overwhelmed, if I looked at all those options for the first time. And I don't even see a reason that all these diffe
