After we come up with that “one line”, we tend to forget how long it took us to get there. For newbies, writing one line is impossible.

For the time being, hub still mostly helps with git operations, in fact it can be used as a git wrapper/replacement since it supports all of git’s commands. gh on the other hand seems to very specifically work on GitHub’s non-git featu

This was what worried me before installing the beta, but I had zero issues with third party apps.

I hope that they come, but only after an app has been installed. I don’t want yet another thing to tap NO on when surfing.

It’a much more usable than Google’s but limited in number of languages. Also Safari’s ability to translate websites seems to be geolocked to the US.

I gave up on folders altogether. I found that my most used apps are still prominently visible either in the drawer or in spotlight’s suggested apps. Before iOS 14 I had more than 14 folders.

In 10 years, this is the first time I installed a beta version. It suffered a couple of issues, but they’ve been ironed out in my case. I really love the new app drawer. My hundred barely-used apps are now neatly stowed there while I keep a

Hell yes. I wish more projects would open to the idea of “moving over” when they’re done. Most developers have this idea that if they add an “alternatives” section to their Readme they’re losing something. Moment’s developers realized that

This feels like when I review incomprehensible code on GitHub: Mention. it. in. the. code. Adding a comment here and on Reddit is useless if nobody else sees it. Explaining why a fork exists should be the first thing people read, especially

Correction: iOS has had permissions at least for as long as apps were allowed and more permissions were added over time. Screenshot in the Camera section of this iPhoneOS 2 review: https://www.imore.com/iphone-os-2-review

That’s unfortunate. IFTTT is not worth that much for most uses.

That’s actually pretty smart, but if only 1 year of subscription is equivalent to a license, it feels like the subscription is overpriced (but I know nothing about the prior price)

From my understanding, the sole reason that many sports are sex-segregated is because women can’t compete at men’s levels in those sports. Why else have a male soccer and female soccer (other than historical reasons that could, nowadays, be

Side note: macOS ships with Disk Utility, which as far as I know can do exactly this, relatively easily, so I don’t think you need 3rd-party software.

The right click does require you to lift your index, but the opposite isn’t true. Like for gaming, there are some uses where the Magic Mouse performs poorly: For example when you have to click both left and right buttons at the same time

This is what I do. I have “work profiles” and for everything else I just come up with a username every few months, leaving behind any “karma” I don’t need. For example the username of this month for HN is mumblerino.

There’s plenty of people willing to work at any price point. Just because a $200/hr consultant dismisses the request, a $10/hr one can probably still figure it out. However if the alternative is bankruptcy I think there IS money t

Such BS, Facebook does not listen to audio passively. If it did, iOS 14 would have highlighted it. Stop spreading fake news. Also just because “Facebook” can listen, the TV still can’t receive updates and ads.
