They're also useful for reverb effects, in very much the same way. See http://www.npr.org/2010/08/03/128935865/queens-brian-may-roc... (under "On The 'Stomp-Stomp-Clap' Section Of 'We Will Rock You'") Also, I think the technique will wor

They are pretty big in japan. I've noticed a big increase in the past year or so; a lot of places that previously offered their own free service now have a for-pay Fon access point. (in the Kobe area, anyway)

How did trolltech ever make money, except for Qt licensing? They had Qtopia and what not, but I don't think Nokia is continuing that.

Unless I'm missing something big, this means that the only part of Qt making money is now divorced from Qt development. So the development staff inside Nokia is not profitable and no longer strategic. In a large company, this is when you

Replace "tap" with "click" in your post. How is the iPad better than doing the same things with the mouse? I don't dispute that a very nice app could be created, but I question whether the iPad itself enables any of those things. Further,

I'm distrustful of people who make lots of diagrams; it indicates to me that they may not actually know how to create the thing they're drawing, and thus lack the capacity to make truly sound decisions about it. I've found UML-y diagrams to

QR Code support seems like a software and cultural issue; they have public awareness in Japan and are thus useful. But it's not like most phones don't have the horsepower to read the things. TV on phones is a matter of the local broadcast

I read the last ~1/3 of it while recovering from food poisoning in a Buenos Aires hotel room. The simpsons was playing on TV, in spanish. Although the context was trippy, the content seemed pretty reasonable to me. It made a lot of sense

So install silverlight. Or fire up a VM and do it there. It's scott hanselman, a smart guy and a good speaker. Even if you don't like microsoft or their platform, it worth knowing what they're doing.

C# has || just like any other language, but objects aren't truthy and nulls aren't falsy. This was a good design decision, since it catches the common = vs. == error if(a=b) while doing the type check rather than silently doing the (probab
