It doesn't really work like that. This concept of individuals making major contributions is an artefact of the way stories about human history are written. Artists perceive the future and share what they see through aesthetic means. This gi

As an art+tech person, I highly encourage those of you with money to spare to make inroads into the art world and support those of us who perceive and express that which is new, strange, and beautiful about this world. Artists are always at

I find Workflowy aesthetically clunky. This is all the usability goodness of Workflowy and great visual design. One of the best things I've seen on the web in awhile. Really impressed.

I think it's worth noting that "flat design" isn't just design that's flat, or a trend toward simplification, it's a very specific design aesthetic featuring a certain palette of muted primary and secondary colors, use of color rather than

That would be a refutation then, to which I would reply that I can see why one would choose a serif generally for this site – though I would not – but this particular serif does not make much sense.

Just browsing casually and Noto Serif looks nice. It's based on Droid Serif, which I find to be a nice adaptation of the serif for technical or UI content.

Yes, but when humanist type was invented, humanist script had already been used in illuminated manuscript. Thanks for the provocation though – it prompted me to take a closer look at the history and I think I may have been wrong to bring

I'm not sure if this is meant as a refutation or an orthogonal comment, but yes, the typeface selected affects how people perceive content. Each typeface has a history and certain associations. It is the job of a graphic designer to align t

It seems there's a bit of a fad of people using humanist serifs on minimal websites about technical topics. I find this an interesting and somewhat strange thing to do. The style of these typefaces dates to the early Renaissance and emulate

I've recently been forced to use the whole Microsoft ecosystem and it's awful . So many basic UX mistakes that make daily use painful. For instance in Outlook there's no clear indication of which emails I've read and which I haven't, so I

Just the thought of being able to use that color in design. The depth is moving. When I do lighting installations, I always insist on RGBA fixtures so you can get true warm colors – another thing you can't do with RGB displays.
