I think I know the pomodoro technique quite well, but as others have mentioned I am as well at a total loss how I could use this calendar/template to improve my workflow. It seems just a habit tracker and the only Pomodoro specific par

Thanks for the explanation. I understand that there are other legal reasons allowing storage and processing of (some) PII in (some) cases without given user consent. But does that fit for "scraped PII"? I'd be very sceptic gi

Could someone downvoting bilekas comment please eli15 why his comment is wrong? I'm under the impression that this is exactly the GDPR position: You are not allowed to store and process PII if you don't have the consent of the per

The criticism is that the iPad isn't better than a PC? Neither is a hammer or a saw ... but both are used professionally every minute. The iPad is a tool. Would someone argue that a hammer is flawed because it only can be used in some

Slightly off topic, but I often wonder why there is no backlash on print media regarding the environmental aspect of this whole publishing industry. Most books are mass-printed, shipped to warehouses, then shipped to local sellers (or e.g.

I seem to miss something here? If RDS went from $0,465 to $0,342 per hour as shown in the table, that’s roughly a decrease by one third in cost for me. Where does the „suddenly doubling the cost“ part come from? Isn’t it that the total cost

Most computer users aren’t hardcore users. Of course not scientific, but I know a lot of users that are intimidated by strange FN keys and are glad the touchbar clearly labels the current function of the virtual keys. We as HN crowd and har

If you could run an old Adobe offering for 6 years, why do you feel forced by Apple right now to upgrade your OS (and hence SW)? Couldn’t you easily stick to Mojave for two more years - or run Mojave and your old SW in a VM? I don‘t see how

Why would an actor use Apple as a target vector? It is much easier to get location tracking thru the mobile service providers. They have the location data in real time and can’t deny that. It’s done thousands of times a day all over the wor

Nice work. But I would suggest to add a feature to report wrong tags. Perhaps that could even lead to optimize the classification AI or you could at least review the suggestions and delete wrong tags manually?

Wouldn't the slowness of the courts and the lengths of processing lead to virtually no protection at all? If going through the courts takes sometimes 3+ years but parents expire after 1 year, every final court ruling would be retroacti

Honest question: If Apple would integrate an AI-based speech-to-text feature in the next iPhone as an accessibility feature that works for all audio captured by microphone or generated by apps, would that be seen as copyright infringing? Wo

To give another perspective: I bought a used iPhone SE about a month ago and was worried about battery health because many sellers didn‘t mention it. After passing some more shady offers I found an SE for cheap (around 100€) that claimed 95

If you‘re Apple and only want to buy businesses that make „a lot of money“, you‘re pretty limited. Most oh so successful and profitable companies are only making nickel and dime in regards to Apple. Why pay top dollars for that?

Citation? As far as I know, there is no limit for paying cash in Germany. To fight crime, you have to show an ID if the amount is 10.000€ or more. In some other European countries, there are limits for paying with cash, but I don‘t think it
