This line of reasoning makes sense to me. Anecdata: most of the top tier banks I've worked with or at now have 3-4 people per desk, with more and more people working almost 100% remotely. When I started working with banks about eight y

Sure but that's why I asked if the blocking tech was open source as well, but I probably didn't ask it very clearly. I couldn't tell from the linked page whether the tech (whether lists or algorithms) were closed or open, but

Oh yeah, we'd spend hours in Quake – 1, 2, and 3 – just doing rocket jumps and other acrobatics to see who could do the most insane stunts. Good times!

Neither you nor the parent poster substantiate your assertions with sources, which made me curious of what research might have been done in this area. Some cursory searching lead me to this reasonably well sourced answer, which suggests the

Unless I'm missing something, both of these cases (and the case of the Australian judge a sibling commenter pointed to) has nothing to do with "failing to identify the driver" but all to do with straight up lying to the court

I know in some jurisdictions at least you also need to identify the driver, because the ticket needs to be made out to whoever was speeding, which may or may not be the owner of the vehicle.

Some Node APIs could probably be implemented using the std and os modules[1], but others (e.g. networking) would probably need to be implemented via the C API[2]. [1]: https://bellard.org/quickjs/quickjs.html#Standard-l

I just tried building this on my Mac and it looked initially like it all was building fine, but it eventually failed when building qjs32. Thinking this probably didn't matter much I went ahead and ran `./qjs examples/hello.js

I think you'd need to translate node specific APIs in order to make this work, e.g. i/o features and require function. It is probably more work than just rewriting the app to use QuickJS APIs instead, but I don't think it&#

I use mine in docked mode most of the time when home, but I love the ability to just bring it with me and play on long train rides and the likes. I also bring it when on vacation – it's portable enough that it's easy to just bring

Interesting technique, I learned something new about ETags. Probably a dumb question but: any reason this couldn't be reliably used instead of cookies to track sessions, e.g. login status etc.?

My job requires me to use zoom for communications – is there anyway I can run zoom in a container or something, so that when I kill the app all traces of it are gone?

Which isn't actually enough, since the surreptitiously installed server will happily go and reinstall the Zoom client for you whenever you load a zoom link, or a malicious link. You have to kill the server, and remove the ~/.zoomu

I've been a die hard 2-space indent person for well over a decade, but this is an argument I simply can't ignore and I feel compelled to reconsider my position. Thanks for sharing this!

I’m sure it’s a great car but man it looks terrible, and I’m willing to bet a lot of consumers are just as vain as I am. It is of course just my opinion, and as you say: to each their own. I’m glad you like your car, but if I was to buy an
