I've read Ayn Rand's books, so I feel confident in stating with Wikipedia that for the Objectivist the moral purpose of the individual life is the pursuit of happiness or rational self-interest. I don't feel like I overstated the position.

For the Tl;dr ers out there, here's the short version. And no, I don't agree that the Objectivists get off so easy... The atheists claim to be able to explain ethics, but they provide no ultimate foundation for ethics. Instead they point to

High-IQ risk taking does not just come from the school system or immigration. It also comes from the freedom to fail. Increasing the safety net and taking the edge off failure will help people step out on the tightrope.

I appreciated the self-referential nature of the page. 1. We created a web page long enough to tell the story 2. We infused the headline with curiosity rather than overt "buy me" language 5. We augmented the message with video Et cetera. If

I have a soft spot in my heart for this one. http://colors.napcsweb.com/colorschemer/ There are several schemes to choose from (complimentary, contrasting, triadic, etc) and knobs to adjust. You get 5 colors to look at next to each other

I take the point to be that if the judge doesn't uphold the DMCA safe harbors, they need to tell Youtube what they can legally do. Viacom's stated alternative is for Youtube to divine the intent of the copyright holder. Arguing that the alt

I'm sure you've already thought of this, but it seems like now that you have input of OCR sheet music, you should strongly consider output of OCR sheet music. Allow your player to set the metronome, then capture what they play on Etude. Out

I give you a file of words, one per line, which may contain duplicates. Output the words in sorted order, removing duplicates, with a count of the number of times it appeared in the original file. Your program should be small and efficient.

My problem with the coding questions (other than the fact that everyone has seen them) is that they're too shallow. So the questions are binary. If you can't do them, interview over, sure. But if you can do them they don't say that much. Th
