You might get more of a response if you talk about what kind of domain the work would be in. "Enterprise" isn't exactly specific.

There's a difference between an ideology and a country's political party.

Wow, that actually sounds like a fantastic idea. I can see this being very useful, especially if you add the ability to pre-purchase prints in discounted packages.

So 1.0 will be released at a certain time regardless of features?

I'm really looking forward to Rust, but I'm waiting until 1.0 or real close to then. My question is, when will 1.0 be? Is there a roadmap? A list of items to meet before then? Is it just being worked on until the core team thinks

I find it interesting there's no representation of games or game creation.

Because of Reddit, I was actually very surprised when the image used the term meme in its original memetic context, as opposed to an image with black and white impact font.

> Mantle enables 9x more draw calls per second than other APIs by reducing CPU overhead. [0] That's a pretty extraordinary claim. I look forward to seeing if they can back it up. [0] http://www.anandtech.com/show

Good. Whenever I visit PopSci I'm amazed at how low quality the comments are. They felt like they belonged more on Fox News than a science site.

Isn't getting users just as, if not more, important? The best product in the world is pointless if no one uses it.

As a professional programmer, I can't sit down, open a book on a language/platform, and read it and learn it. It doesn't matter how much I want to learn that language/platform. I have to learn by doing. Forget about lear

I'm gonna be pedantic and bring up this line: > Don’t leave out the smiley. People dig smileys. :-) Am I the only one that gets put off by that? I always see it as either disingenuous, passive aggressive, or creepy. I feel even weir

Android has this in the form of intents. Not quite as useful, but still works well. Maybe look at more than just iOS when talking about "the mobile space".

A week or two ago, a friend of mine mentioned going to PAX East and I was all for it. Now I'm not quite sure. I really think the quote by Rich Stevens in the article matches my feelings. > I could get over the original comic if they

About two weeks ago I started to explore a concept with a friend where people wrote the AI to a fleet of ships in browser using JS, which then got executed. It seems to work alright, but I'm no expert when it comes to JS, so I'm n

Unity3D is the current hot tool. You can use C# or an ECMAscript flavor called Unity Script. There's also quite a list of growing HTML5 game engines. Beyond that, there's really nothing stopping you from finding an opengl binding

Good comparison, but I found the point about the back button being needless and confusing a bit weird. Using Android as my primary mobile OS, I feel like someone's cut off a thumb whenever I use iOS devices. The back button, to me, is

The article talks about the difficulty in that. With the TI-8x series you could work directly on the device. With today's tablets you need a computer and developer licenses.

Just last week I started getting into Android development, and networking has significantly slowed down my prototyping speed. I'm going to have to try this out.

Rust looks very interesting to me, but seems to be in in a state of high flux. Does anyone have experience with sustained work in the language? How often are you hurt by the rate of change?

I've tried several demos, and Minecrift has been the only one I've gone back to several times. When I tried HL2, there were perspective and latency issues to the point that I couldn't play for more than 15 minutes.

I've seen it defined a couple different ways, so I'll ask for HN's opinion: What exactly constitutes a junior dev? Less than 3 years? 5? Less than X jobs?

I've been following this for a while, and I'm excited to see it start to come together. I hope a lot of people aren't turned off by this pseudo Kickstarter, and wonder why Kickstarter turned them down in the first place.
