Yeah, for me it redirects to Lifehacker's Australian domain. Complete web site fail. Somewhat ironically, the first link that appears on the resulting, incorrect page is "Tip your editors". Unlikely, when I can't even read their content.

Groovy is good alternative JVM language if you just want some improvements on Java without a completely new language to learn. It addresses many of the small frustrations I have with Java (lack of list and map literals, lack of anonymous fu

Lots of useful general advice about building products. Cutting features is definitely the hardest part of his recommendations. Especially when a product is small and easy to enhance, it's tempting to add just one more feature . You just ne

Apple pretty heavily promotes using their concurrency frameworks (GCD, dispatch queues, etc.) that don't require the direct creation of threads by application code [1]. Do you think many applications ignore that and use threads on iOS anywa

What does "forecloses on [an] office" actually mean? The article didn't explain that to me. From what I read, it sounds like the guy just won a court claim in local court against WF, and got the Sheriff's office to concur that the company w

Sounds like a petition for the appropriate usage of lightboxes. That's something I definitely agree with. It's similar to the old problems with modal dialogs in desktop applications. Basically: don't use a modal dialog unless your situati
