Generally I aim for just inside the post...so I don't look at the goalie. The puck definitely does go where I look though - so it could make a bit of a difference.

Overall the quality of their writing is a bit low. This doesn't mean their program is good or bad, but it just leaves a bad first impression for me. But I would also like to know more info - perhaps someone needs to whip up a a review site

Getting paid out can be painful. Make sure do everything possible to make that easy. Properly document your time/efforts and send proper invoices at the proper time.

I took quite a few economics courses in university - and all of the textbooks were poor. The best course was on monetary policy, basically the type of modeling and process the Federal Reserve or the Bank of Canada go through. Check out htt

Currencies are currently horribly manipulated, and individual currency crashes (like Iceland) can completely devastate a population. Maybe centralization could be better? It seems to be working well for the EU.

I got flamed for suggesting this recently, but I'd like to see it: Equal wages/prices for all regardless of geography, brought on by a single world currency and the internet? That would solve world hunger (which is a money issue, not suppl

The Wii? Seriously - a few of my friends' parents just bought it and love it. They play some of the simple games like sports to death.

They have newish planes that are already horribly shabby (torn seats, worn carpets). They don't clean the plane between flights. There is very little legroom. They provide zero food/beverages on even 5+ hour flights without a large cost.

(I mean all of this in terms of making an extra few percent - not making 2k into 200 million) I think you have the advantage of timing. Being a casual investor you can leave $ as cash until an opportunity arises. You don't need to invest

Not for branding - which all Super Bowl ads are. You want to get as many unique viewers as possible, demos aren't overly important. Branding by buying up a whole bunch of separate channels and time slots is very difficult to get that kind

Have you ever used Spirit? They are hilariously low budget. Being a cheap man I used their service from Detroit->Vegas (it was about 100$ round trip). They have one of the lowest level of services of any airline in north america (but

That may be the common-sense but from my experience in the advertising world it is not the case. Costs are always paid in CPM. The Superbowl drives a huge premium because you can get such breadth and volume. Niches on TV tend to be cheape

If only there were some good shows to download... I liked Heroes but this season is whack. I like the UK Office, Extras, Family Guy, Survivorman. I usually watch the Daily Show/Colbert but don't want to bother downloading those. Any recomm

Terminal I go dark - Textmate I go light. Maybe I should switch to dark - it is a bit nicer on the eyes I think. Edit: Switched over Textmate to a dark theme, and I am glad for the reminder. I don't know why on this new machine I didn't h

You are a tech person. I see facebook as ridiculously simple. But people use it to store their photos online. Really. If my Mom can't store her data online - it is a problem. Asking for linux support misses the point.

I found when reading the book I kept thinking about 'How can a complex system form from a few basic parts?'. That question has always intrigued me, and probably always will. It also always results in me thinking - how many levels of basic

I am shocked people know so much about this guy and his book. Have I been living under a rock? I heard about the book, but had no clue that he has some weak world record. He clearly does a great job marketing himself.
