I know how deadly it can be. The thing about the chemical stuff is that it smells bad, it look dirty etc. Once we wandered in an old building that had a huge pool like thing filled with something that smells like freshly roasted nuts. A ple

Why would the risk be small? I've seen pretty expensive machinery been left behind. I destroyed such machinery to take out the copper wires from its transformars to make a net. What makes you think that this can't happen? It can h

What is the USP of the countless others? They even converged on API. Being in EU is actually a rather strong USP with history happening. Just the other day Korean workers building a factory in US were detained and publicly humiliated and se

I'm not anti-nuclear but I don't like the idea of proliferation of nuclear reactors on every corner because I don't believe that there are enough smart and trustworthy people to handle that many reactors. I'm all on for

I agree, it's one of the few last places on the Internet where the content is not just rage bait or AI slop. These things are trying to creep in but so far they failed to dominate unlike other places. My issues with YouTube are usuall

It was probably more like system designed in Europe, made in China, assembled in Europe thing. Sure, the HQ of the core component(Nvidia) is incorporated in US but that too is a multinational effort.

I thought this is obvious by now? It's just a show, no one is actually investing such money - this is to spice up the casino and run a news cycle for Trump. I mean, just check the numbers they are throwing around, there's no such

Hypothetically, if the AI is indeed able to improve efficiency Europe should be able to replicate the US IT efforts at the fraction of the original cost. Not only that but we already know what works, so no cost for the dead ends too. A bit

It's not limited to Google, now I wonder if this is actually a Cloudflare/other CDN/International Infra issue or is it that so many services use Google Cloud stuff and they are gone too because of it.

Okay, how this changes the core argument? The videos were not taken down briefly because they did not comply with the Turkish law that protects Ataturk from defamation but for the claim that they violated someones commercial interests.

Yes it is censorship. A 3rd party decides what you can consume, the only difference between instances is that you may or may not agree with that. I don't want to go into the copyright discussion. The only thing I will tell you is this

Copyright is definitely not censorship, Copyright is the framework implemented to create intellectual properties to allow for commercial exploitation of text, sound, images and some other intellectual output(details depend on jurisdiction).

I don't think that there's difference, just implementation details differ. Youtube was blocked in Turkey for many years because someone from Germany uploaded defamatory videos about Ataturk(illegal in TR) and it was considered pro

Traditionally in the west, censorship was through copyright rights. It wasn’t considered censorship if you do it for money and business. Fast forward to today, Americans are pushing you for self censorship through force and denial(if you do
