I think this book would be perfect for me - I have been using Emacs for quite a while, but never mastered elisp: I could never figure out how to structure things properly. Looking at the book landing page, I think I would have passed on it

I learned the term "dead-listing" from Fravia's Pages of Reverse Engineering in the 90s [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fravia ]. I felt like such a hardcore hacker removing the nag screen from some bit of

I'm too scared to google it in case it causes the algorithm to think I'm interested in corporate buzzword frameworks (at least, that's my bet on what it is... Remember RUP?)

I remember someone had made an early iPhone game out of UI elements (around 2009 ish?). I thought it was such a cool idea, and spent a bunch of time messing around with "ui-elements-as-graphics". My favourite thing I came up with

The article does mention this a bit, and (after reading quite a bit of Gemini content) I agree: 'The links are awkwardly placed, and the "placeholder" markers (such as numbers or brackets) to connect the text to the link belo

I can't believe the sunlight trick works. My brain always thought it was the sun that made it yellow! I saw this first on the Retro Recipes channel a while back where he shared some theories on the maybe how's and why's. ( ht

I got the same feeling reading the "Pompeii wall graffiti". It's not beautiful, but it hit me hard: 2000+ years, and people are the same people! ( https://kashgar.com.au/blogs/history/the-bawdy-graffi
