I also feel like my Spotify playlists have gone cold. Once I had 6 covers in a row. I’ve recently switched to Qobuz which is more editorial and less algorithmic. Overall very happy with their recs.

Yes and it could be totally optional, or prompted after a certain # of mis-deliveries. I work in an office building that has a confusing address. I can easily use DoorDash and Uber Eats because they have this feature but GrubHub does not an

Pittsburgh is very affordable and has a high quality of life. It’s transformed a lot from steel and manufacturing to tech and engineering but is still super down to earth. It has great sports, solid arts and culture and is near a lot of bea

Also lots of young families and a decent tech ecosystem due to U of R, RIT and a decent batch of tech/engineering companies. The winter is hard but the Spring and Summer are beautiful.

Our team switched about a year ago to huge benefit. We’re using VSCode locally to connect and edit repos hosted remotely. VSCode’s remote extensions are really good and from a code editing perspective the difference is almost imperceptible

Self care is kind of a silly stupid term but “self” is definitely the most important part. Humans are very different so what everyone needs is going to be different as well. Lots of people need regimen and structure and goals, and for some

In theory yes but practically probably not. I’d be looking for a Twitter/Instagram replacement with: A) no ads B) no data mining C) sensible (to me) moderation/filtering tools D) right to delete E) large network with diverse viewp

The tool and department seem real but it’s possible the Reddit post is heavily exaggerated. JPMC has thousands of managers. If all of them have access to the strangest/most invasive aspects of the tool described it wouldn’t be a secret

Fact of the matter: at this point if you’re buying anything with telemetry or cloud services, the only safe assumption is that your data may become public at some point in the future, with or without your knowledge.

Let’s say you’re right and only the good content rises to the top. What’s the motivation behind that content? It’s likely not just to improve online discussions and be your AI online thought partner. It will have an agenda and it will be u

A fascinating angle on this is how critical chat has become to modern business communication- to the point that the highest paid execs with the highest paid lawyers use it even when doing so is knowingly flying in the face of danger. As oth

Cheers to Nilay for pressing him for a real answer and not letting him shrug off the Q. If we’re gonna spend time letting these CEOs shill their platforms let’s make them answer the hard Qs.

This is such blatant rent-seeking nonsense and I think it will backfire. These articles always call out Tesla as a success but clearly they have a cult following and have other innovations. Personally, lack of CarPlay is the reason I hate d

Hearing both good and bad advice and making smart decisions is what a CEO’s job is. Get as much advice as possible but understand no one knows your business like you do. Being able to hit go hard on the right advice and go slow/ignore

I think search-wise Google is an interesting place. The results page (especially mobile) has transformed dramatically the last few years. Now you get a dizzying array of widgets filled with rich info that’s been surfaced from other places.

Really hard to separate timing from leadership. Bezos got to spend spend spend on moonshots and the market rewarded him. Then Jassy took over, interest rates rose, and all of a sudden the goalposts had moved.

I think an important difference is if he “owned” and solelt possessed the data, the warrant would be his to fight (or not comply with) in court. When someone else possesses your data (not even sure ownership matters) they may just share it
