Torque screwdriver. You can get digital motor-driven ones, and ones that work like torque wrenches, with a clutch that releases once you exceed the torque setting. Torque screwdrivers have a limited range of supported torques, and computer

It's possible that copper sulfate is more dangerous than the alternatives, but there's no evidence that it's carcinogenic. Your linked article claims copper sulfate "has not been associated with cancer".

I wonder if somebody vaguely remembered the effects of helium fill, which actually does reduce sound transmission, and vaguely remembered that argon-filled windows are a commercial product, and conflated the two because they're both no

But wouldn't density make things worse? Helium can be used for noise attenuation like this because it's light, so you get worse acoustic impedance matching between the panels and the gas. Argon is denser than air.

It's far less of a problem if it's malware, because malware has to be installed. If it's a real backdoor it's already present on every Linux machine.

It occurred to me that cycling primarily involves heart, lungs, and legs. You train all of them simultaneously, so they'll naturally have balanced performance. If you selectively impair one of the three, it will become a bottleneck. Ho

In my experience, a half-face respirator is more comfortable than a FFP2 (European standard similar to N95) or surgical mask. They have soft silicone seals, and bigger filters and exhalation valves that minimize breathing resistance. If you

It's a popular phrase, but it doesn't make sense if you think about it. The person with two clocks can average the time of both of them and get a result they can be more confident in than the person with only one.

Interesting that they went with an open-cockpit design. I'd have thought closed cockpit would be faster because of better aerodynamics, even at these relatively low speeds. Any idea why this was chosen?
