My old laptop was a System 76 Gazelle with an Nvidia card, never had any problems with it. I am busy and just left the stock PopOS on there, worked fine. My current is a Tuxedo Computers Pulse 15 II, with an AMD card. I love this laptop.

Just as I look at that person and consider how scrappy and determined they must have been to get a start in an industry that's not terribly friendly to juniors. I know because I did it. Then earned a degree later that filled in some ga

Confirmed, happily. My step-kids from my previous marriage are reaching this age and after several years of grunt-only communication, suddenly they are back in my life. It was obviously hard for them and lots of things happened that were ou

This! I won't buy a Windows OS to run stuff because rebooting is annoying and I end up rarely ever actually dual booting. But I'd pay good money for a Windows Classic library on Linux.

I'm not familiar with Rocksdb but if it's just a KV store you want, I'd probably just use Redis with compression. It is hard to beat. Otherwise, Timescaledb offers compressible table chunks using table inheritance. It's

Oh it's so much worse than opening speed. Paramount+ is straight unusable on every platform I tried, the Android reviews show I'm not the only one. It crashes, fails to load, kicks your dog, you name it. Can't be used. Peacoc

I use containers with SideBerry for this. I have panels dedicated to google accounts (broadly: work, other and personal). When I'm in a panel and click a link it opens correctly with the right container and corresponding auth. It'

It looks like their service only works on MacOS, which means they're probably just using the local iMessage db like others have done. They're not integrating with the API or providing access for other platforms, it's a totall

I've been bought out by a French company twice in my career and worked closely with developers in Paris for years, and at least in my experience, this is still very much the case. There wasn't a track for senior IC and at the time

I would bet that they were thinking about colocating and would need to have secured intra-service communication anyhow. In Google this is transparent but at a (probably yet identified facility) it'd be up to them to provide.
