Another issue is people don't understand how powerful modern hardware is. You have modern systems that process less transaction per a second ones from the 1970s. Just look at the modern SPA. They are slower than ones 10 years ago, an

STM under a concurrent load can be expensive due to how modern CPUs work. Since you are updating values on different CPUs going to have cache invalidation. Then you have the issue if you are doing an expensive calculation in the transacti

STM is implemented using immutable data structures and using atomics you can do a compare and swap to update the value. If the swap fails you try your transaction again. I’m not sure how you would implement this in a language with mutable

Redux is not idiomatic JavaScript though. It’s trying to make JavaScript immutable and have adt which it doesn’t. If you use elm, reasonml, rescript, etc this pattern is a lot easier to implement than with JavaScript.

Intel makes a lot more than x86 CPUs. I think there biggest competitor right now would be ARM. If more laptops and desktops start coming with ARM chips would hurt their market share more than AMD. Once that happens easier to develop for

For Haskell original purpose it is hugely successful. It is a fantastic language to test new ideas and for functional language research. Think about how big of an impact it has had on languages like C#, Scala, Kotlin, and Swift.

Also have to mention apple is charging a fee way outside the norm for a payment processor at 30%. Have to also remember to deploy to the app store and a lot of the development has to be done on a Mac. So it is really equivalent of saying y
