Glad to see the mainstream media picked up on it: http://www.sfchronicle.com/politics/article/Apple-CEO-Tim-Co... From the comments: "It's not personal. It's business." So when does business ta

Sure but by giving money you are doing more than just hedging. You are affecting the outcome. Hopefully all prospective and current Apple employees consider the politics and morality that the company is taking on.

I am extremely disappointed to see Apple executives raising money for such a terrible politician. Goes to show that many important people will donate to both sides of the political spectrum to advance their careers even against their pers

Rents can vary widely but I think $3000 is probably a more reasonable estimate. The transit estimates also seem too high - I spend almost nothing because I can walk to work and take a Lyft Line for $5 or a bus for $2.25 if I need to. Many p

Well that brings a few other factors in as well. 1. The company can depreciate capital expenditures and deduct their costs from income whereas the employees would not reduce their taxes by doing a kitchen upgrade or going grocery shopping 2

I don't entirely disagree but I will point out one thing with the mutual fund markdowns. If the fund's value declines as the public markets tank (e.g. briefly at the start of the year) then the holdings in the fund need to be mark

It would be difficult so no one bothers. How many "people" is monthly use of S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Route 53, etc. equivalent to? Its not easy or worthwhile to estimate. Revenue per employee can be a bit of a vanity metric.
