So I was looking at SotA loss functions from a few years ago that weighted the CTC loss by the WER of the decoded phrase. Could we generalize the WER weighting to optimize for the domain? Something like weight = w1 * WER + w2 * phonetic sim

The main issue is that quantum mechanics and {special | general} relativity are non-intuitive. Any classical analogy is a leaky abstraction at best. There are communicators who can pierce through this effectively. However, they tend to be

You are just saying that interacting systems have phase transitions. I think this is a far cry from "emergent numbers". Edit: Maybe self organizing matter that lives on a phase transition boundary benefits from being aware of the

Your argument is tautological. Do we really know if adaptation is responding to discrete classifications of environmental pressure? There could be other ways to describe how systems adapt. You are ascribing a lot to how you think it emerge

Does "easier" equate to "universal". I think it does, just thinking about your statement out loud. Since to humans, explaining numbers with hydrogen would be harder, I think. The common ground between humans is larger,

When you say calc-heavy, you are speaking about just cranking the wheel or number crunching? What type of exposure would have prepared you better? HS obviously won't prepare you, so this is speaking more towards uni curriculum.

ODEs don't have feedback either. Their evolution is a function of it's point-in-time state, just like Recurrent nets. But, you can build great priors with a well-modeled ODE

I would argue the gains are "fake" if the inflation of spending of the investor class tracks the market. In other words, we see inflation in private school tuition, homes, etc, that is correlated with this bull market.

By your logic, all classical computers are measuring voltages and calling them bits. A computer is just an experiment, right? All of the awesome things we build with computers are just propaganda.
