   No, JVM enhancements will not be limited to LTS. If anything it's best to merge them long before an LTS, so that they're well-baked in the LTS itself.

   The -XX:+UnlockCommercialVMOptions flag has been removed from OpenJDK ( http://j.mp/u9gAJ9 ). It was pushed to an open repository by mistake.

   Exactly: Diagnosability and serviceability features (especially when deeply integrated with the underlying OS), code generation algorithms optimized for specific hardware, GC algorithms tuned to specific memory hierarchies, etc.
