I haven't used glfw, but from the docs it leaves you in control of the main loop, whereas glut takes that over and only offers you callbacks. When I used glut (many many years ago) that was sometimes annoying. glfw doesn't seem to

This comes up sufficiently often in the excellent /r/AskHistorians sub that it made their VFAQ [1] list twice. Both linked answers are worth reading. [1] https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/wiki/v

And I've encountered some leftists who, while they don't use the term "SJW" amongst themselves, are comfortable describing themselves that way to others since (as far as I could make out) everyone has a pretty good idea

Ignorant question: at what point does the limiting factor for useful zoom become stabilization rather than optics? I looked briefly into ridiculous-zoom-level compacts a while back and consensus seemed to be that while the tech specs look g

A large proportion of work is aimed at housing, but for entirely the wrong reasons. Housing costs in first world countries these days generally expand to consume available income, via land price inflation. Actual build cost - "producti

Why does leisure have to mean consumption? And isn't consumption necessarily limited to the amount produced? I wasn't particularly impressed by TFA, but I don't understand this criticism of it.

I don't know about Win10, but the default Win7 media player is still a steaming pile of poo. Can't play many formats, stupid and uncustomizable keyboard shortcuts, occasionally decides to display some videos as audio+visualization

No Latin American countries have nukes, and despite spending most of the 19th century beating the stuffing out of each other on a regular basis [1] there's been almost zero inter-state violence since WW2. Modern Russia is also nowhere
