Interesting. Thanks for the list. My biggest issue with Ember, other than the management of release schedule and API early on, is the concept of tying routes to models explicitly. It seems to assume that given a route context, you'll b

I'm a big fan of React. I soured on Ember but, to be fair, haven't looked at it in quite a while. Curious, though, is the statement in the slide deck that Ember "dominates" big apps true or verifiable? Perhaps if you exc

Backbone is not an MVC framework, and it's important to know that. It's one of its greatest strengths as a client-side JavaScript tool. A well structured Backbone app can stand the test of time, and I can't say that for some

Not that I implied a lack of data validation was my reason for disliking mongo - just to keep myself honest - there are the collection2 and simple-schema packages that help enforce schema validation on Meteor collections. https://

Yes, I agree. Selling a platform is different from selling a product - especially when you're speaking directly to the consumers. Consumers want the product, not the platform.

App.net was born out of a visceral, snap reaction to Twitter's API decisions that, really, the mainstream didn't really care about. That's not enough to build a product on top of. What's more, while I sympathize with the

I'm sorry, I completely respect your opinion, but frankly any company that can "use" "free" data from the air and resell it much cheaper than, say, the $150 cable bill, is going to be successful. That doesn't m

I would just say that the "X versus Y" approach to frameworks (as opposed to tools) is not very productive in a lot of cases. The best way to approach it is to define and understand the needs of your project, research, and choose.
