There's no stress on their servers with Beeper Mini, as it communicates with Apple servers directly.

It'll look good when the audio out is routed in to the USB audio interface to come back to the computer for recording!

Dexed is a really good implementation of the DX7, and there are thousands of "cartridges" to be found online packed with presets for it.

What issues do you have with it? I do really like that they're able to improve on the product with firmware updates. One of the benefits of software-controlled oscillators. I'd love it if they'd open it up with an SDK like K

Sounds like a neat set up! I've got the Volca Sample for the beats. Does audio go from Drum to Freak to headphones; and does the Freak control clock for the two?

I switched over to IceRaven due to the extension lock out. The only extension I really needed outside of the Mozilla walled garden was to help getting past pay walls.

> Whatever you now find weird, ugly, uncomfortable and nasty about a new medium will surely become its signature. CD distortion, the jitteriness of digital video, the crap sound of 8-bit - all of these will be cherished and emulated as s

Ha! I'm teetering on the edge of buying a MicroFreak. There's no way I could justify the cost of anything from TeenageEngineering - though £299 isn't as steep as I was expecting from these. Stay Strong!

My favourite easter eggs are: I remember playing through the first F.E.A.R. and noticing a coffee machine in an office kitchen. It had an unknown brand name on it so I checked it against the game's credits and it matched up with one o

I remember using XNA, at university, when it was still in vogue. I'll have to dig up that old project and see if it can be built with MonoGame.

I love it. Though I'm really going to miss seeing screen grabs of Big Buck Bunny as the placeholder image in media-adjacent projects.

They should roll it out in to a separate library. Call it the Blender Toolkit, or BTK.

Thank you. I remember seeing someone had made a clock face using ferrofluids, and wanted to give something like that a go myself, but was put off hearing the information I was questioning.

Don't ferrofluids break down in to the surrounding liquid over time? Or is that mitigated by treating the glass as was mentioned in the bluetooth speaker video from the article?

Thank you very much for this link. This guy looks to do a great job of demystifying reverse engineering. Will be subscribing in the hope of learning something!

Good stuff! I started getting in to this at the start of the year. Already had an old, dusty MicroKORG and MIDI interface to use it as a controller, but recently splashed out on a bigger controller as the Korg's tiny keys were hurting

Would probably make it liable to DMCA, but I wish they could have the rotating 'N cube' passing through two orthogonal portals on boot up. Looks like a great project. I'm going to have to give it a go on the emulator.

Agreed - I have my collection encoded in Opus on my phone's SD card. Tempted to do the same for my in-home setup to lock the sample rate at 48KHz - my tired old home server struggles to down-sample the higher resolution FLACs that I ha

Storage is cheap. Plus you might want/need to re-encode to another format down the line and any lossless format is better as the master copy.

Looks like the .deb format was introduced in 0.93[0]. Can't really tell if that was the time `dpkg` was introduced, in 1994. [0] - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deb_(file_format)
