I'd just like to see the period of time drastically reduced for "inventions" in domains that move faster. Any software patent should last no longer than a year, period. And as long as I'm writing the law, anything patented by Intellectual V

I'm interested in why it's not working on for me. I'll edit this to update on problems as they come. For people trying to run the existing webgl samples (using something like utils3d.js) that are out there with the nightly ff build: 1)

Woot! Got Canvas3D to create a buffer! (I got distracted by NPR's telling of the ADM price-fixing story, sorry). Okay, the relevant/revelatory code can be seen at: http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/content/html/c... Here's the

Do their forums even work for you? I just got back, and I'm needing to look at the google cache of almost every mozilla forum page; I haven't gotten through to their forums a single time yet. Their 'search moz code' thingy still works -- se

Does the FF nightly work for you? It doesn't for me at the moment, at least not with those samples (link to my post below, in case this discussion gets big: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=831988 ). Any tips appreciated. I'll have a fe

I just downloaded and installed the latest Minefield nightly. I enabled the single webgl option in about:config. Not a single one of the examples from http://trac.webkit.org/changeset/48330 are loading for me. They all error with: Error:

From another perspective -- for public speaking, I find that handwritten notes are indispensable because of the fingerprint they leave on my brain. Hand-written notes don't need to be necessarily 'well-designed' in the same way a website do

I agree that the comments shouldn't offend anyone. I disagree with your reasoning, though. This neighborhood is (apparently) pretty well known in Ye Olde Silicone Valley(e). That being the case, I'll bet any number of nerd bloggers or priva

Your questions are reasonable ones given your experiences, but their nature makes it unlikely for people to expend much energy answering them -- questions like "why isn't anyone moving to fix them?" may be perfectly reasonable to you, and i

I agree, mildweed. Especially about the end-user tools. It looks good to do this, and it is good. It's all win, and clearly it sets them apart. That being said, in many cases, their answer is "There's an API for that." Why can't it be expor

I thought this was about the schoolyard game foursquare. I am ashamed to admit this, but I played that all the way through 8th grade. ... Now that I know what Foursquare is, I have to say, foursquare seems preferable.

I didn't get that at all -- perhaps because I'm a young guy, I saw it as a cautionary tale for me. "Cautionary tale" is not "whiner." It's not "bad crap happened to me" at all; in fact, that was the whole point of his story (don't just
