I've been using Clickhouse Keeper in production environment since it's first release and have been really happy. It makes setting up distributed tables in Clickhouse (replicas/shards) quite easy. The only issues I've see

> The workers ask for work when they want it, rather than being constantly listening Can you elaborate more on this? How do the workers know when they have to process a new job? Also, am I right in assuming this is typically a single nod

Love this project! I've been trying out Paisa off late and it's been great at just de-cluttering my investments in various assets (which are spread all over).

Interesting approach to maintaining a clean dev environment using containers. This approach reminds me of Fedora Silverblue[1] that I’ve been wanting to try. It leverages OSTree for atomic upgrades and rollbacks. Users can run containers fo

Since the author of this post is making efforts to bind mount specific directories, is that still a legit risk? root inside the container isn’t essentially the same root on host. But yes, UID and GID mappings along with user namespacing wil

Having done a recent refactor + redesign of my personal website, I echo with this sentiment. It's much easier to go live sooner and do incremental improvements than launch everything all at once.

Looks nice. The comparison with S&P500/similar Index funds is an important metric to track. I’d also built a tool https://monkeybeat.market/ which demonstrates a similar concept. I’ve been exploring such projects o

Have had so many issues related to DNS Lookup failures with container images on Alpine that I honestly can’t be bothered to deal with it anymore. If such basic stuff isn’t reliable then why should I consider it for production usage? I stick

My personal blog: https://mrkaran.dev/ I've been writing on this space for a while now but the frequency of posts has dropped to once in 2-3 months. I hope to make it a more consistent habit however.

Interesting. In my experience I found Metabase gets clunkier when you've to query for adhoc logs. However it's a great fit when it's just a template and all the end user has to do is to enter some variables to see the logs. I

I think what bitcask proposes (to routinely collect datafiles and mark them as stale and GC them later) is quite a simple solution. It would work for a lot of usecases.

I've a similar pipeline to yours (for the storage part). I use vector.dev for collecting and aggregating logs, enriching with metadata (cluster, env, AWS tags) and then finally storing them in a Clickhouse table. Do you use any particu

Can you share some details on how you did this? I am interested too! Did you use S3 table functions or just downloaded the CSV locally and ran `clickhouse-local`?

Quite a cool approach. Although only one downside I see here is that you're just relying on Stripe to let you access order history? What if they don't let you access this data via APIs for data older than a certain time period? Or
