If it is all different frontends to the same backend, they very much failed at marketing. For an advertising company, creating this much chaos in their branding and communication is very confusing and somewhat laughable.

There was only mention of a facelift, which can be good or bad. And lots of facelifts nowadays are quite bad, so I understand the concern.

How do you control for differences in air pollution and water pollution, differences in food, differences in stress levels. There are too many unknowns in these calculations.

Using brute-force, algorithms or rules is too hard for humans, there is too much going on at the same time. Even Stockfish didn't manage that against AlphaZero :) If you do want to have a more strict repertoire, you could find a few op

Not 1950s, but 1970s; Lelystad. They did not mention this at all in the article, which is quite a miss. Lelystad was the earlier experiment, a bit more up north in Flevoland. It is not growing anymore because some parts have failed and not

Almere is very walkable, just a bit boring. Cycling is okay too, although it needs a bit of work I think. In regards to cycling, it is not that popular in Almere. Not sure why, it could be that rudimentary, half of the people is upper middl

The blog of WordFence has been quite informative over the years. Many plugins, and even WordPress Core, have had security issues. Some really bad ones get used from a very early stage. So I do think there is some merit in being more on top

Can you explain what the cause of this sharp rise is? The linked article has nothing on that. It even feels a bit alarming without much depth. And is anything being done? In the Netherlands, many investors, big and small, are buying up hous

I think the same model gets larger each generation because of marketing reasons. And since all the manufacturers are doing this, no manufacturer can escape from this. At the top of the line models disappear, at the bottom of the line new mo

Oh no, I am playing with this in the same way. Saying things like "Yes, but...", just means "No". I regularly change the word "but" to "and". Sometimes it works really well, like, both parts are true.

If the war has shifted to open/closed data, does it mean the battle for free software was won? Saying we lost is a bit early. I do see lots of projects aiming for open data. That battle has not been decided yet, it's a long game.

I don't think "force" is the right word here. More that it's an offer companies can make and customers can choose. Free software and free data are not always a concern of users, lock-in might not be the best choice long-

One other thing that is easily forgotten, trains are much safer and feel safer. In road traffic there are maybe 50 deaths per year per million people (wild guess, but not that far off). With trains in Europe, it's not even 1 per year p

Signaling is on a separate system. There is ATB-EG/ATB-NG for max speed and there is ATB-Vv for stopping for red lights. Part of train history in the Netherlands is the train disaster at Harmelen in 1962 where 93 people died. It spurre

That is factually incorrect. An ISO9660 is a filesystem on a data CD. An Audio CD is just a stream of bits. That is why you need to rip an audio CD, the CD player needs to transform that stream of bits into blocks of 4096 bytes. It has to r

When everybody knows, everybody knows. It doesn't mean anything has to happen or change. Down here when children break something and the parents ask "Who did that?", they will often reply "It was already like that".
