Which uses would that be? The power/performance isn't right, rather quite wrong. You're better off buying a second hand x86-64 which draws less power and has more performance.

If it's critical, you should not use a cheap SSD. It is better to use a SSD for professional use, for servers. I have seen and heard too many consumer market a-brand SSDs break.

If the device locks up, is that really Wayland, not the kernel driver or mesa driver? Here on HN I see a lot of popular opinions on Intel and their drivers. Even today, proposing it as a baseline for Wayland. But could it perhaps be that In

Sorry to say, but I don't understand why you don't understand something so simple (probably I am rude). In the last three years there have been many strains of Covid. Of each one we didn't know if it would be more contageous

This is partly because of history. From the 1980s on the mores in cycling was to use skinny tires. Thus there were no road bikes with cantilever brakes anymore. Up and into the 1980s touring bikes were still available with cantilever brakes

For context, I know someone who claims this statement is only true if you use TRP mechanical disc brakes. The rest of the mechanical disc brakes is supposed to be garbage.

Problem with this kind of thinking is that you can always blame the other party. But blame will not solve the issue. Both parties, Hamas and Isreaeli government do bad things. Staying into "blame" thinking will not change the situ

Is Devuan still having a usecase? No offense, I am simply curious. Lately I see statements that you can use standard Debian and have it instaled without systemd. It won't be the default I assume, but how do Devuan and Debian (without s

It was a different situation. Microsoft Windows was considered a monopoly, with around 95% of the desktop market (there was no mobile market yet). Microsoft used this to gain a monopoly in desktop browsers. When you are a monopoly, other ru

Can anyone explain how this works in modern Android? Do the drivers for this specific hardware live in Treble? Can they "just" drop a new kernel in a point release, like linux 6.5 vanilla? Or linux 8.5 vanilla in the year 2030? I

It could be that there was a process of consolidation starting. Soltek was a small player and for years I simply assumed they could not compete with giants like Asus, Gigabyte and MSI, that were taking the hobbyist market. There was also EC

That is a bit unfair, a GUI library is a huge undertaking. I did see some projects move to Qt, but not many. It is with C++ quite different from GTK. Not sure how FLTK fares, but I don't see many projects using that.
