I think the metaphor is OK, but in my own experience I think it misses the mark a little bit. From what I have learned, you need to GC because you generate too much garbage; one of the ways that meditation helps is that you simply generate

I can offer my own experience. I went to a meditation retreat, we were supposed to sleep only 2 to 3 hours a day. I probably slept around that on average. The rest of the time it's just meditation and breaks with occasional meals.

I'd say to them: learn Java. Java is in high demand, and if you know either C and/or PHP I'm sure your friends will pick it up. Although there's some competition, you don't have to worry with competing with the 20s

Anyway, it's extremely easy to get around this, provided you are willing to update the table yourself. You just skip the two-way bindings for each table cell and update the cells for yourself. No big deal. If you try to glue angular an

Same opinion here. I think angular hit an inflection point on the js frameworks, proof is the rapid growth that angular had. Granted, there's some bad parts but I would say it's mostly leaky abstractions; I'm wondering how an

I normally do a curl | less before doing a curl | sh and take a quick peek. Not perfect, but at least it's a step in the right way. Like someone says, it's a matter of trust (but verify).

I took a spin a few weeks ago, it seemed like it would be a great fit to our needs: - we store alot of metrics for custom KPIs - we don't do joins - we don't need transactions - we're write once read heavy, sometimes re-w

There is no programmatic way of doing this. You need to have guys with domain expertise to help you through. Obviously, the effort to fix/migrate will always be proportional to the time it took to create such a mess. This is 100MM line

The api looks alot like tsung. I'm almost willing to bet that either they got inspiration from it or are using it on the server. Anyway, tsung is great and these services are great too.

This isn't a problem if you generate source maps. Of course, if you have to support and debug old browsers, it's a different story. A quick google search got me to SO: http://stackoverflow.com/a/807161 result

Let met tell you why angular is hard. It is because most of us are not familiarized with the concepts. The docs are hard to read and some stuff is buried deep within the language, but once you understand the concepts it's very easy to
